Curious... Alli'yamma said nothing at first when her fellow Shadowlander awoke yelling for her mother. It was interesting... she had lost her mother too, but then in this seemingly eternal war, who hasn't lost a loved one? The assassin remained silent through the other's verbal musings until she was asked to take the half Lizard half Arachne back home. What do I look like to you? A taxi service? The assassin's eyes glittered with annoyance, yet her face stayed untouched by her emotions like a serene lake.
Yet again, Alli kept that to herself as she replied softly, yet gruffly, "Sadly I can only take you as far as the Shadowlander raider's base camp at the moment as I have other pressing obligations I need to attend to soon. Will that do?"

"I see... well, anyplace will have to be better than this place. The thought of being in the company of kin will be refreshing," Arnie nodded understandably, showing the more logical and less short-tempered side of her, most definitely from the arachne side of her bloodline. Being a race of thinkers, the arachne have always made logical decisions and have been trying to avoid direct conflict for the most part... something many warrior societies believe to be extremely cowardly, which is why the lizards hate the arachne.
"Well then, if you wouldn't mind, do take us to where our kin are camped," making up her mind, Arnie nodded as she gave off a polite smile with her request. There was of course, an urgency in her voice to leave, the more they linger here, the greater their chances of their enemies returning. It would be most unpleasant for them to come back and find these two still chatting.

The battle ended the Centaur commander made his way to the human that had earlier boasted so eagerly earlier of the decision to cast anyone as friend or enemy. A callow youth of a man that seemed to know more about battle than being aristocracy of any caliber. The brown skinned Centaur, his face masked in the blood and gore that splattered in past his helmet's cheek guard, glared down from his superior position on the man that had taken up command in place of the Shadow-born captain.
"Whom is your enemy now?" he asked in a tone that mocked the man and spoke volumes of exactly how he felt of the current militia leader. "You had best make peace with your decision by the time an army from your King comes to your doorstep, or the decision WILL be made for you, and woe be it to those that follow your direction lest you choose as poorly as you have this instance."
The leader of the troupe stepped back and rose his voice in a barking shout.
"Centaur Warriors! Tend to our wounded and prepare to make camp for the night! We camp here in Zanburg! Lest our enemy prepare a night raid against the militia that fought so well to defend their land."
Then the Centaurs eyes lowered in a most dangerous manner toward the mayors son and his face bespoke of the fact that his patience for disobedience on those that were socially inferior to him was swiftly running in short supply.
"Unless you would spit on every last courtesy and turn away those that came to your side when your leader abandoned you."
He did not wait for an answer and turned his hunches to the human to gallop away. Passing his second and muttering some last minute orders as he rode back to where they had left the lizard-spider. Alone as he did not want further escalation of an already tense situation. Helmet returned to his crown but his floppy long braid left hanging out the back.

Alli felt like sighing, but she didn't. She had brought this upon herself after all. She shouldn't have helped her and in a sense she still didn't know why she did, this was just getting in the way of her job here.
She said nothing in response as she jerked her head in the direction they would travel and set out at a brisk pace. Alli'yamma threaded her way through the forest, stopping once in a while to listen to her surroundings and check if they were being followed or not. Alli never went in a straight line to any of her destinations, and this doubly so. While she may not agree with raiding the Light Tribe's lands, she didn't want to betray her kin's position. After a while they seemed to stumble upon a loose encampment that looked ready to pick up and move as it was.
Another scout intercepted them quickly as Alli'yamma signaled to the Elf, she was one of their own.
"Look what the cat drug in! Where'd you find her?" the scout asked abet stupidly in Alli's opinion.
"She was under attack from a legion of Centaurs, so I brought her here," Was all Alli'yamma said in reply as she didn't have time for the jerk.
She turned back to Arnie, "I must go now, but it seems this group is headed back for Shadow Tribe lands. I hope that is sufficient."

Seeing as how alert the other shadowlander female was, Arnie took comfort in letting her guard down a bit. While being a warrior, she could never truly completely leave herself defenseless, she relaxed the tension that she felt in always being alert. She knew that it'd be very unlikely that anyone would try to sneak up on them at this point, with the earlier skirmish occurring after all.
While she had the full intention of returning towards her land of birth, a part of her wished to remain within the world of light. She wished to know if everyone in the village was safe from the earlier attack or not. Shaking the thoughts from her head, she realized that she no longer belonged here. It was a momentary illusion that gave her the idea that she somehow had a place within this world.
It was her earlier charade in the first place that severed the bonds between her, and the people of this land. Her stubborn will and pride to protect them from the wrath of their damned sovereign. Sighing, she wondered just how much she deserved to be their captain in the first place. She certainly did not carry that title anymore, not after today's events.
Her thoughts were distracted when they finally met with another one of their kin, a rather annoying elf whom she realized that her guide did not seem to be very fond of. Well, naturally, the elf did seem a bit too curious to Arnie's own liking as well, and asked a lot of pointless questions. None the less, kin was kin, and Arnie would be much safer in this one's company than any of their enemies up here. Nodding towards her guide, Arnie slammed her two fists together and lowered her head.
It was a lizard warrior's gesture of saying thanks, and that the honorable debt shall be repaid one day. Then, turning back to the elf, Arnie nodded as well, hoping that she'd finally be able to go back home.

Kolvus returned to the spot they had left the Shadowland ex-captain only to find an open area and the weaponry still affixed to the tree. Perhaps there to stay until that mighty conifer collapsed to old age, burying the shield and sword under a rotting wooden mass... such was the nature of the alchemical glue used. Regardless the enemy was no where to be seen and for that he was more than a little thankful. His duty was to fight and protect but he took no great joy in bloodshed, nor any delight in murder and mayhem. It was his vocation and nothing more, he bore no ill will to any being from either land. But he always gave no quarter in battle and would expect none in return. War was hell, it was dirty and brutal and NEVER supposed to be enjoyed. But it must be.
He looked about the area for a time, still cautious as he was aware there was a skilled marksman about. Being an archer himself he knew better than to expect anything other than a ranged ambush. But no bolts fell from the sky and no bellow of rage heralded an renewed attack by the spider, so he counted himself lucky, offered a silent blessing to whatever path the forsaken spider-lizard might walk now, and returned to his troupe. There were still many battles left to fight with the traitorous residents of this village, battles of posturing and words bantered about like anyone of these rustic simpletons knew the true power of such accusations, and Kolvus was already tired of such things. But he had wounded and dying to care for, on both sides of that battle, and he would not allow anyone to suffer needlessly.
In fact Kolvus was the kind that would bandage and release any of his enemies that had fought bravely for their cause. The battle was over and there was no reason to slay those that could be healed... by their own. He would not waste precious spells or healing medicines on the enemy, but a bandage and time to collect strength for the hike back to their homeland - that would cost Kolvus little and he considered it part of the honor among warriors.
Not that Trolls would understand such things... but those beats had to be put down during combat anyway. One did not simply wound a Troll and live to boast of the battle.
So, for the time, the spider and the mysterious archer were set aside. He would not be challenged about this by his men, for it was their needs that he was putting first. Besides those rather primary facts there was the rather basic realization that not a one of his troupe were scouts. The cavalry could be loosely considered to be almost of that order, but they were not trained as trackers. Meaning that wherever the Shadowlander got off to she would probably be rather safe. For the Centaur Warriors would not be looking for her anytime in the near future.
((Consider my part done for this little drama. Unless someone has the odd desire to return to that village and renew aggressions that is.))
